Electricity and the Zodiac: Part I
1. Electrical phenomena, such as the incandescence of a light bulb, are described by the Ohm's Law. Simply put, a power source (P) meets a resistance (R), and such interaction creates a field of force or voltage (V). Once the resistance is overcome, a current (I) can flow.2. The four natural Elements can be correlated with this fourfold expression of electricity. The will of Fire (F) is to power as the grounding Earth (E) is to the resistance. Air (A), the bridge between heaven and earth, relates to voltage; and the flowing Water (W) to the current of electrons.3. There are three stages of human development symbolically represented in the Wheel of the Zodiac. Each stage follows the same general pattern of electrical processes described above: Fire (P), Earth (R), Air (V) and Water (I).4. The Path of Probation. The First Stage (Aries-Cancer) describes the development of mass-consciouness. The interaction between the will-to-rule (from the plane of mind) and the solid physical resistance of Taurus (desire) creates a field of force (polarity voltage of Gemini) which, when overcome, generates the current of maya or instinct to incarnate (Cancer).5. The Path of Discipleship. The Second Stage (Leo-Scorpio) describes the development of Self-conciousness. The interaction between the will-to-self-assertion of Leo and the resistance of the self-effacing liquid physical Virgo creates a field of force (polarity voltage) in Libra. The tests of Scorpio overcome such resistance so that the current of the enlightened mind can flow and rule over all emotions.6. The Path of Initiation. The Third Stage (Sagittarius-Piscis) describes the development of the initiate Group-consciousness. The interaction between Sagittarius's will-to-return (to the Father's home of Monadic identification) and the soul-destroying gaseous physical resistance of Capricorn creates a field of force (polarity voltage) in Aquarius. The death of any residual personality resistance in Piscis allows the current of the intuition to flow and rule over all mental illusions.7. The Mystery of Electricity takes a new turn. The glow and the heat of the thermoelectric soul are no more. The cold luminiscence of the radioactive Monad --the One-- now rules.
